Ordinary Joys is a female-founded small business created by two best friends—a photographer and an illustrator—in New York. After more than a decade in the city, we found ourselves worn down by the pace of it all. We were craving a way to see things differently—to shift our focus back to the smaller moments that actually made us feel good.

We wanted something we could share. Something simple. An easy way to bring people together and steer conversations toward what really matters—not success or status, but the everyday moments and stories that are easy to overlook.

That’s how Ordinary Joys started.

Since then, it’s become a way for people around the world to connect over the simple pleasures of life. A tool to share stories that wouldn’t come up otherwise. Some people use it to see how well they know each other. Others use it to create positive conversation, get to know someone new, or just slow down.

In 2024, we relaunched with a New York–themed pack that sold out immediately to a waitlist of over 500 people. Our packs are now stocked in Pop Up Grocer and The Locavore—two of our favorite shops in New York City.

Our newest release and the core pack of the brand, Ordinary Joys of Everyday, launched in May 2025. It combines a few favorite cards from our first editions (back when we were shipping out of Australia in hand-packed boxes—if you know, you know) with a set of new cards that make it nearly impossible to choose your top 5.

We made Ordinary Joys because we needed it. And we’re grateful that it resonates with others, too.

We are honored to bring this into the world. We hope you like it.
